DAC (Direct Attach Copper)
DAC (Direct Attach Copper) twinax cables fuse a high-speed twinax conductor with the transceiver-integrated SerDes electronics into a single fixed-length assembly. They eliminate the optical-to-electrical conversion stage, dropping power to < 0.1 W per end and cost to a fraction of optical equivalents — at the price of limited reach (typically 1–7 m passive, 10 m active). Optiunik manufactures DAC cables across the entire pluggable form-factor family: 10G SFP+, 25G SFP28, 40G QSFP+, 100G QSFP28, 200G QSFP56, and 400G QSFP-DD; breakout configurations (e.g., 1× QSFP28-to-4× SFP28) are fully supported. Passive variants are standard at 1, 2, 3, and 5 m; active variants extend to 10 m. Every cable is electrically tested for Tx eye pattern, insertion loss, and crosstalk before shipping, and is programmed with the customer's switch vendor coding.
