
CWDM
CWDM (Coarse Wavelength Division Multiplexing) is the cost-effective way to multiply fiber capacity without DWDM-grade temperature stabilization. With 20-nm channel spacing on the ITU G.694.2 grid (1271, 1291, 1311, … 1611 nm), CWDM optics use uncooled DFB lasers — half the unit cost and a third of the power of DWDM equivalents. Optiunik supplies CWDM mux/demux modules from 4 to 18 channels in four mainstream form factors: 19-inch 1U rackmount (with optional 1310 / 1490 nm upgrade ports), ABS-housed modules for compact deployments, LGX cassettes for ODF integration, and discrete 1×2 / 1×N filter devices. Typical insertion loss is < 1.5 dB for 4-ch and < 4.5 dB for 18-ch, with adjacent-channel isolation > 30 dB and crosstalk < -40 dB.
